
Don Tapscott
Don Tapscott is the Executive Chairman of the Blockchain Research Institute and a globally recognized authority on the impact of technology on business and society. He has authored 18 books, including the international bestseller Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything, translated into over 25 languages. His TED talks have reached millions, with his second TED talk viewed over 7 million times on TED.com.
In 2016, Don co-authored Blockchain Revolution: How the Technology Behind Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies is Changing the World with his son, Alex. The book, now translated into 20 languages, is widely regarded as a guide to navigating technology-driven disruption. Together, Don and Alex founded the Blockchain Research Institute in 2017, a global think tank with over 150 projects dedicated to blockchain strategy and transformation. The institute has expanded internationally with offices in Africa, Brazil, Europe, the Middle East, and Korea, and its 2024 focus includes integrating AI, blockchain, IoT, and Extended Reality within Web3.
Don has been honored as a member of the Order of Canada and was ranked the second most influential management thinker by Thinkers50 in 2019. He has also been inducted into the Thinkers50 Hall of Fame alongside renowned figures like Michael Porter and Peter Drucker. He is an Adjunct Professor at INSEAD and served as Chancellor Emeritus of Trent University in Ontario from 2013 to 2019. It is hard to imagine anyone who has been more prolific, profound, and influential in explaining today’s technological revolutions and their impact on the world.
