HB Lim is Managing Director of APAC for BitGo, responsible for overseeing BitGo’s operations and internal controls in the region. Based in Singapore, he joined BitGo first as Head of Compliance for APAC before taking on his current role. Prior to joining BitGo, HB spent seven years in Abu Dhabi as Director of Supervision at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Abu Dhabi’s International Financial Centre. At ADGM, HB licensed and supervised tradfi, fintech and crypto firms, and was part of the FSRA team that created the world’s first comprehensive crypto regulatory framework in 2018. HB also helped kickstart and develop Abu Dhabi’s crypto and fintech ecosystem and fintech sandbox, and was a founding member of the Abu Dhabi Fintech Festival (now rebranded “Abu Dhabi Finance Week”) which he helped manage and run for five years since the event’s inception, with the event becoming MENA’s largest dedicated fintech conference. HB was also part of the ADGM team responsible for engaging firms from China and helping them set up in Abu Dhabi. HB started his career in the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) where he spent six years as a regulator, before joining Promontory (a Business Unit of IBM Consulting) for three years and provided regulatory and compliance consulting services to clients across APAC. HB graduated from Yale University with a B.A., double majoring in Economics and Psychology.
