Lisa Cameron

Chair of Global Legislators Forum

Dr. Lisa Cameron is a pioneering clinical psychologist and former UK Member of Parliament for East Kilbride, Strathaven & Lesmahagow (2015-2024). She was the first clinical psychologist to be elected to the House of Commons.

In 2021, Dr. Cameron founded and chaired the UK Parliament's first Cryptocurrency & Digital Assets cross-party group, bringing together members from both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. Under her leadership, the group produced a groundbreaking report in 2022 on the UK's development as a Crypto Hub, which was positively received in Parliament and endorsed by Government City Minister, Rt Hon. Andrew Griffiths. She was recognized as the most active voice on digital assets in the UK Parliament in 2023-2024 (Greengage Report).

Beyond digital assets, Dr. Cameron is a strong advocate for disability inclusion. She initiated the Speaker’s Disability Internship Programme in 2016, creating parliamentary opportunities for young disabled people and enhancing their access to UK politics.

After stepping down from Parliament, Dr. Cameron became Chair of the Global Legislators Forum in Digital Assets, promoting best practices in the sector among legislators worldwide. She is also an Honorary Lecturer at Glasgow University, where she completed her training.
