Mr. Vakhtang Abrahamyan has been working as the CEO of Fastex since November 2022.
Before joining the Company, Mr. Abrahamyan held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia since December 24, 2015. Mr. Abrahamyan has worked at the Central Bank since 1995. Prior to joining Fastex, he was a Board Member for 7 years and Chief auditor (2006-2008) of the Central Bank of Armenia.
 

He was also acting as a Chair of the Board in several financial infrastructural units, such as ACRA-Credit Bureau CJSC, ARCA-Card Processing Center CJSC, ArmIncassation CJSC, Financial Ombudsman office, Deposit Guarantee fund, STAK Money Transfer CJSC, Digital Armenia Foundation, Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA Armenia Chapter).
 

Mr. Abrahamyan was actively involved in international cooperation and pear-to-pear relations with other Central/National banks as well as international organizations (IMF, WB). He chaired the committee of Payments in EEU member Central /National banks, Board member of AFI (Alliance for Financial Inclusion), as well as Chair of the board of Eastern Europe and Central Asia Initiative. Mr Abrahamyan was also a member of many interstate cooperation committees.

Mr. Abrahamyan graduated from Yerevan State University of Economics (Management faculty).
He also holds advanced degrees from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University Special Degree Program on "Advanced Economic Studies", Boston, MA, USA).
Mr. Abrahamyan has a number of Executive education diplomas, including from Columbia Business School (General Management and Leadership), and Cambridge University (Digital Transformation).

Mr. Abrahamyan has lecturing experience in topics such as IT Governance, Risk management, Cybersecurity, Business contingency, and Web3. He holds several professional certifications:
Certified in Risk and Information Systems ControlTM (CRISC) Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT® (CGEIT), and Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).

In 2014, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Abrahamyan was awarded the “The second-class Medal of Services to the Motherland“.
